Andy Williamson BSc (Eng), P. Geoph
Associate Geophysicist

Andy Williamson brings 25 years of Canadian and International geoscience expertise to Amulet, with an Honours B. Sc. Engineering Geophysics in 1985 from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.

Since 1985, Andy has developed a well-rounded and unique skill-set rich in all aspects of exploration and development geophysics including seismic interpretation, acquisition and data processing. He has worked for Western Geophysical, Boyd Exploration Consultants, EnCana and its predecessor Alberta Energy Company, Galleon Energy, and Africa Oil Corporation. Andy is fluent in Spanish and has 9 years of international experience from work in Latin America and East Africa, which included lengthy foreign postings.

With a strong early foundation in seismic acquisition and data processing, Andy brings a rare perspective to interpretation, mapping and model building demonstrating proven results in new pool discoveries and fully integrated reservoir characterization yielding new reserve additions. He has been accountable in the drilling of hundreds of wells in Western Canada and internationally. In addition, he has designed and been the project leader for several large 2D and 3D seismic field surveys, many in sensitive areas.

Andy has authored many technical papers and presented at several major conferences and technical meetings, including:

• “Frequency Bandwidth Enhancement Using 3D Layered Reflectivity Inversion,” CSEG/SEG 2004
• “Quantitative Interpretation of Neural Network Seismic Facies,” CSEG/SEG 2003
• “3D Seismic Acquisition in Protected Areas,” Ecology & Environment Forum, 2003
• “Application of Seismic Waveform Classification to Reservoir Modelling,” SEG Development
and Production Forum, 2003
• “Development and Production of the Tarapoa Block,” SPE Forum, Aruba, 2002

His proficiency with a wide variety of software applications brings creativity, innovation and excellence.
